Cost-of-living adjustments (COLA)

The COLA granted to pensioners who retired prior to January 1, 2008 is 2.16% effective January 1, 2009.

• If your pension started before January 1, 2008, you will receive the full increase of 2.16% in 2009.
• If your pension started on or after January 1, 2008, but before December 1, 2008, your 2009 increase is prorated depending on the month you retired.
• If your pension started on or after December 1, 2008, you will not receive an increase in 2009.

Note: There is an exception to pensioners belonging to the Special Forces Pension Plan. Please visit the plan website for more information.

The increase is applied to your base pension amount. Please be advised that your base pension amount excludes coordination.
