Making the Pension Experience Easier - New LAPP Website

Edmonton, November 1, 2010 - Alberta Pensions Services Corporation (APS) is pleased to announce the new Local Authorities Pension Plan (LAPP) website, launched October 29.

More than 200,000 members and retirees benefit from LAPP - Alberta"s largest public sector pension plan. The new LAPP website is designed to promote the value of the Plan and web services, and improve client satisfaction.

"The pension plan is a significant part of a member's overall retirement savings and an important recruitment and retention tool for employers," says Director of Communications, Tracy Balash. "It is our goal to provide LAPP clients with a more engaging online experience. We want them to find the information they need quickly and easily."

LAPP members, employers and retirees can use the new website as a main source of pension information.

New features include:

  • Instructional video clips
  • Enhanced web services
  • Access to personalized pension information
  • Advanced search function

The LAPP website address (www.lapp.ca) will not change as a result of the updates.

APS is committed to continually improving on the products and services we deliver to clients. APS manages the maintenance of the Local Authorities Pension Plan website, along with the websites of three other major pension plans. New websites for the Public Service Pension Plan, Management Employees Pension Plan and Special Forces Pension Plan are also in development.
