Making the Pension Experience Easier - New SFPP Website

Life is complicated, but your pension plan shouldn't be.

Edmonton, April 15, 2011 - Alberta Pensions Services Corporation (APS) is pleased to announce the launch of the new Special Forces Pension Plan (SFPP) website.

SFPP was established in 1979 as a defined benefit plan for police officers, police chiefs and deputy chiefs employed by local authorities in the province of Alberta.

"The pension plan is a significant part of a member's overall retirement savings and an important recruitment and retention tool for employers," comments Director of Communications, Tracy Balash. "It is our goal to provide SFPP clients with a more engaging online experience. We want them to find the information they need quickly and easily."

SFPP members, employers and pensioners can use the new website as a main source of pension information.

New features include:

  • Top 5 frequently asked questions
  • Instructional video clips
  • Enhanced web services
  • Access to personalized pension information
  • Advanced search function

While the domain name (www.sfpp.ca) has not changed with the redesign, individual page names have changed and bookmarks will need to be updated. Please note it may take time before results from the new website's search function accurately display the website's new content.

APS is committed to continually improving on the products and services we deliver to clients. APS manages the maintenance of the Special Forces Pension Plan website, along with the websites of three other major pension plans.
