The Management Employees Pension Plan (MEPP) was established in 1994 to replace the Public Service Management Pension Plan (PSMPP) for management employees of the Alberta government and other public sector organizations.
Effective retroactive to August 1, 1992, the pension entitlements of any active members of PSMPP were transferred into the newly-formed MEPP. The pension entitlements for PSMPP members who were receiving a pension at that time, as well as the pension entitlements for any deferred PSMPP members who were not actively contributing to the plan, were transferred to the Public Service Management (Closed Membership) Pension Plan (Closed Plan). Since that time, all new participants have been enrolled directly in MEPP.
MEPP is administered by Alberta Pensions Services Corporation (APS).
More information about this plan can be found on the MEPP website.
